Every child deserves a champion — an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best they can possibly be

“It’s important to keep our creativity alive with teachers as well as pupils”

Lifted and Gifted’s founder Tanya Obeng is passionate about improved, inclusive education – whether for others or for Lifted & Gifted’s own team.  It starts with training.

All Lifted & Gifted’s incredibly talented teachers come with the training, drive, enthusiasm and skill to bring innovative, transformative performing arts workshops into your school or community project. All members of our team embody compassionate, patient, creative teaching which strives for students’ ongoing development and enjoyment.

Our teachers are artists in their own right, as well as passionate educators with an interest in special educational needs (SEN). They are all DBS checked, and are thoroughly trained by Lifted & Gifted before officially joining the team. They are well-versed in a broad range of teaching methods, allowing for flexibility when working with children with SEN who have been previously labelled ‘disruptive’. Our teachers regularly come together to share experiences and continue the development of new and exciting workshops. Take a look at our ‘Featured Teacher’ for examples of the calibre of our amazing team.

" The workshop brought the ideas that the children had already investigated alive, and enabled greater empathy with the characters. "

Peter Grimes (Year 4 Teacher)

Our core philosophy revolves around using experiential learning to help children grow in confidence, be curious, and retain information in a way that significantly reduces the stress of assessments and examinations. Our teachers are fully engaged with the requirements of the curriculum (and that all-important OFSTED evaluation), as well as always looking outside the box in their pursuit of an enhanced educational experience for the students in their care.

As well as sending teachers directly into your classrooms, we offer two-day, in-house teacher training workshops – held during holidays or inset days – which are a great way to help your existing staff increase their confidence, enhance classroom creativity, and improve behaviour management. Lifted & Gifted’s founder Tanya Obeng has vast experience of working with children with diagnosed ASD, dyslexia, or ADHD, and she has loads of tips and techniques to help your staff improve the learning environment for these children, and the rest of the class.
